Currently planning a weekend getaway with friends. Loving all the awesome architecture in Palm Springs. Here's a little illustration I created after being inspired.

CHANGE OF MEDIUM

Sometimes you need a change of pace and sometimes you need a change of mediums. Had some fun with paint by numbers. First things first if you haven't checked out Therapy the store I highly recommend checking it out. It's great for cute yet somewhat unnecessary things. It is definitely great for gifts. They carry stuff like the "Sweet Treats paint-by-numbers kit." Here's a few I did this weekend. Can't wait to send them out to some friends for a surprise mail treat.

TRE BORDEN

We had an awesome speaker for our Duarte Talk Shop last week. His name is Tre Borden. He collaborates with artists and brings art to public spaces. He helps connect the Sacramento community by building engaging public pieces. He had captivating work, he had inspiring work, he was charismatic and he was hilarious. I created the poster we used to promote his talk. I created a short animation as well, built-in keynote. You should definitely take some time to check out his work

EARTH DAY

Earth day just passed and with it was the March for Science. I saw so many amazing messages that people put together. The message below was a favorite of mine. While I did not have a sign for the march I've created a minimalist poster of what I wish I had created.

Feel free to download a copy for yourself here.

THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL

THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL

A weekend at home with rain was a welcome pause. It was the perfect weekend to stay indoors and work on a fun personal project. I was talking to a co-worker recently about the phenomenon that is the "Millennial Pink" trend. And while I'm not a fan of the color pink they're have been some awesome designs, from cafés to movies, to come from this. Best of all was the reference to the Wes Anderson film The Grand Budapest Hotel, a personal favorite of mine. So I decided to spend the weekend absorbing all things Grand Budapest Hotel. Here are a few character illustrations I created. And if you haven't seen the movie yet do yourself a favor and watch it!
